Structurally, the film's off-kilter. The start of the relationship is rushed through, while the supposedly crucial notice period feels increasingly directionless. Which leaves the comic strand - and that, by and large, delivers.
- Geoff Andrew, Time Out, February 09, 2006
Much of the reason for the film's success is down to the pairing of Grant and Bullock, and it's easy to see how the film could have been a leaden disaster in the hands of blander actors.

The spark isn't there and the soufflé doesn't rise.
- Peter Bradshaw, Guardian [UK], March 25, 2003
They may not be history's most predictable pairing but Bullock and Grant turn out to be a natural fit, in an Odd Couple kind of way.
- , Sydney Morning Herald, March 07, 2003
- Garth Franklin, Dark Horizons, February 09, 2003
This is the kind of movie where the big scene is a man shot out of a cannon into a vat of ice cream.
- Rex Reed, New York Observer, January 16, 2003
According to the script, Grant and Bullock's characters are made for each other. But you'd never guess that from the performances.
- Jamie Russell, BBC, January 16, 2003
Instead of using George and Lucy's most obvious differences to ignite sparks, Lawrence desperately looks elsewhere, seizing on George's haplessness and Lucy's personality tics.
- Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com, January 08, 2003
It's a treat - a delightful, witty, improbable romantic comedy with a zippy jazzy score... Grant and Bullock make it look as though they are having so much fun.
- Urban Cinefile Critics, Urban Cinefile, December 27, 2002
The film's essentially over by the meet-cute.
- Ed Park, Village Voice, December 25, 2002
- Robert Denerstein, Denver Rocky Mountain News, December 23, 2002
This thing works on no level whatsoever for me.
- Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper, December 23, 2002
A pleasant romantic comedy.
- Eric Harrison, Houston Chronicle, December 20, 2002
I hated every minute of it.
- Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post, December 20, 2002
A tepid romantic comedy that strains not only credulity but patience.
- Ann Hornaday, Washington Post, December 20, 2002
Even more than last week's Maid in Manhattan, this week's New York comedy is saved from strain by actors it's tough not to like.
- Mike Clark, USA Today, December 20, 2002
Two Weeks Notice? Two minutes would be plenty, thanks.
- Peter Howell, Toronto Star, December 20, 2002
Some day, Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant will make a perfectly charming romantic comedy together. Until then, we have Two Weeks Notice, to remind us that bad things can happen to good ideas.
- Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times, December 20, 2002
wo Weeks Notice is very much a movie that rides on its co-stars, but it rides nicely.
- Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, December 20, 2002
The film is more perky than actually funny.
- Joe Baltake, Sacramento Bee, December 20, 2002
