Superstar film producer Peter Dragon relies on his huge ego and exceptionally high tolerance for dishonesty as he enlists a whip-smart prostitute to help raise the millions he needs to make his next film inside Hollywood's cutthroat world of money, sex and power.
The disastrous opening of his new film has left producer Peter Dragon (Jay Mohr, Jerry Maguire) with a problem. Not only has the poor showing undermined his position in the dog-eat-dog world of Hollywood, but a costly mistake has led him to buy a script he doesn't want. To survive, he enlists the sexy and shrewd Wendy Ward, a former child star turned prostitute, in his campaign to get studio chief (and his pregnant ex-wife's current husband) Bob Gianopolis to make the film. But when Bobby G leaves him $50 million short, Peter must find the rest on his own. In a wild ride that puts him in league with a wealthy Asian playboy, a drug-addicted actor, his overweight female co-star, Wendy's former pimp, and a vain British director, Peter faces seemingly insurmountable obstacles - including impending fatherhood and a near-fatal heart attack - to finish the film and save his reputation.
