Marilyn Monroe's most devoted fans have attended the Immortal Marilyn Pool Party in Los Angeles over the weekend to mark fifty years since the star died of a drug overdose.

Two hundred fans paid tribute to Monroe by dressing like extras from the hit TV homage to the 1960s Mad Men and wearing bright red lipstick.

Several events in Los Angeles today will also honour Monroe's memory, including a banquet and memorial service.
