Luke's intense 'Mummy' training

Newcomer Luke Ford was certainly thrown in at the deep end for his first Hollywood movie The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor.

"I was in martial arts training and physical cardio training for four months before filming, four to five hours a day, five days a week," the Aussie actor reveals.

"In the last month before filming, we cut down to three days a week so we wouldn't injure ourselves. It was pretty intense and then while you're filming, you have to maintain that cardio, maintain the fight choreography. So just when you think you're gonna get a little nap or you're gonna chomp into a bit of apple pie, you have to go and beat someone up or get beaten up! It was good fun!"

However, Luke, who plays Brendan Fraser's son Alex in the new movie, ultimately enjoyed the experience, and is keen to reprise his role in a possible sequel.

"We did [sign on for a fourth] but I guess that depends on the success of the film and whether Universal wants to take that franchise to another level again," he says. "But I'll do it if they want me to do it."
